태양은 매일 반복해서 떠 오릅니다.
지치지도 않고 매일 매일,

동쪽에서 뜨고 서쪽으로 집니다.
과학자들은 지구가 언제 태어났고,

태양계는 언제 생성 됐다고 말은 하지만 까마득한 단위인
광년이니, 억년 하는 단위를 말하니 아득하기만 합니다.

하지만 똑 떨어지게 말하는게
태양의 표면 온도더군요.

태양의 표면 온도가 약 6000도로 이 온도는
프리즘으로 나타나는 색을 보고 알 수 있답니다.

광화문 촛불 시위 때 많이 등장했던
촛불의 겉 불꽃 온도는 1400℃ 정도 됩니다.

의외로 태양의 표면 온도와
엄청난 차이를 보이지는 않죠.

그럼 철강을 녹인 쇳물의
온도는 어느 정도일까요.

고철을 녹여 전기로 녹인 후 쇳물을
내 보낼 때 (출강 : 出鋼)의 온도는 약 1600℃입니다.

노란색을 띄며 주황색을 띄고
출강 되는 쇳물의 온도가 촛불 겉 온도와

200℃밖에 차이가 안 난다니 놀랍죠.
1600℃ 정도로 출강 된 쇳물은

철강 반제품인 Billet, Bloom이라는
이름의 철강 덩어리도 만들고

그 과정에 생긴 때 (스케일)을 제거하며,
누르고 길게 하면서 제품을 만들어 내는

압연 (壓延) 이라는 단계를 들어갈 때의 온도는,
약 1200℃ 정도의  온도로,

촛불에서 가장 밝은 빛을 내는
속 불꽃 온도인 1200℃와 비슷합니다.

※ Semi-finished products
Semi-finished products whose cross-sectional shapes along the length
are constant, obtained by rolling or forging of steel ingots or
by continuous casting.

※ SLAB
Plate shaped semi-products of thickness equal or greater than 50mm
and a ratio of which to thickness is equal or greater than 2
Used as a rolling material for steel and steel strip
In the specification of ISO 6929,
Slabs with a ratio of width to thickness
greater than 4 are called “flat slabs”

단면이 장방형이고, 보통 두께가 50 mm를 초과하며, 폭은 두께의
약 2배 이상의 강편으로, 강판 및 대강의 압연 소재로 사용됩니다.

※ Bloom
Semi-finished products having certain size of square cross-section
(square and rectangular of the long side twice or less the shorter size)
or round cross-section .

There are square blooms, rectangular blooms and round blooms,
and generally semi-finished products of one side or
diameter of over 200 mm In the specification of ISO 6929,

square blooms with side greater than 120 mm and rectangular blooms
having a cross-sectional  area greater than 14,400㎟, with a ratio
of width  to thickness greater than 1 and less than 2.

단면이 거의 정방형 또는 긴 변이 짧은 변의 약 2배 이하의 장방형으로
보통 한 변의 길이가 130 mm 를 초과하는 강편
