Alloy 20 재질은, 염화물, 질산, 인산이 있는 화학 환경에서
극히 우수한 내식성을 가진 오스테나이트계 Nickel Alloy 금속입니다.
Alloy 20 튜브, 파이프는 ASTM B729 SMLS, 냉간 또는 열간 마무리된
UNS N08020 재질과 대응되며, 인조 물질, 식품, 제약, 유기물과 무기물,
정유 과정에 사용되며, 열 교환기 tube, 산세 (pickling) 공정 등에 사용됩니다.
Alloy 20 금속에는 Columbium (Niobium) 예민화 안정화 원소 합금으로
예민화로 인한 입계 부식과 틈 부식, 공식 (pitting corrosion)에 강합니다.
Alloy 20은 Incoloy®20 — Special Metals, 20Cb3® — Carpenter Technology
제조사 상표로도 불리며, 우수한 응력 부식 균열 (SCC) 저항성 금속입니다.
Alloy 20 재질은 EN 2.4660, NiCr20CuMo 재질과 비교 가능합니다.
※ Stress corrosion (응력 부식 : 應力腐蝕)
부식과 인장 응력 또는 잔류 응력, 그리고 부식성 환경으로 인해
금속의 변형과 함께 발생하는 부식을 말합니다.
금속 표면에 거의 부식이 없지만 미세한 균열들이 금속
내부로 퍼짐에 따라 (전파에)따라, 설계 강도보다 훨씬 낮은
응력에서도 금속 파괴가 일어날 수 있습니다.

오스테나이트계 스텐레스강의 응력 부식 균열 시험으로 사용됩니다.
