AMS 6512 합금은, Maraging 강으로, 고항복강도로 — 240 ksi minimum,
Annealed 된, 프리미엄 항공기 강재로 사용되는, 합금강재입니다.
AMS 6512 는 환봉, 기계 구조용 고응력 튜브, 링 형상이고 size 가 큰 경우는
단조재로 제조되고, 진공 용해 방법으로 생산하는 마레이징강입니다.
항공기강급 강재는, 강재 내부의 가스, 편석 등을 제거해 높은 인성과 강도 재질입니다.
7.8% 수준의 Cobalt와, 18% 수준의 Nickel 합금으로, 18Ni Grade 250 이라고도 합니다.
AMS 6512 강재는 UNS K92890, DTD5212, BS S162, ASTM A646
규정과 비교 가능하고, 항공기용 부품, 방위 산업, shafts, structural 용도입니다.
※ Maraging (마레이징)
Precipitation hardening treatment carried out on steels, the solution treatment
of which produces a soft martensite with a very low carbon content which
can subsequently be aged to give the required mechanical properties.
철강재에서 극저탄소 농도의 마르텐자이트로 용체화 처리 후 소정의
역학적 성질을 얻을 수 있도록 시효 처리를 실시하는 석출 경화 처리를 말합니다.

Premium Aircraft Quality Steel is the ultimate quality that can currently be obtained in
production quantities and is usually applied to the most critical parts and components.
Steel conformed to this quality level is produced by the consumable electrode vacuum
arc remelting technique. AMS 2300 defines this quality and outlines testing requirements
Steels described herein which meet this quality are designated by the letters VAR
(Vacuum Arc Remelts) or CEVM (Consumable Electrode Vacuum Melted)
