1.4034 재질은 열처리로 강도를 높일 수 있는 마르텐자이트 스텐레스입니다.
1.4031 (탄소량 0.36~0.42%) 보다 탄소량이 높은 1.4034 (0.43~0.50%) 재질이기에
QT 열처리시에 더 높은 기계적 성질이 가능한, 13% 크롬 합금 스텐레스입니다.
QT 조건에서는 HRc 55 수준으로, 공구강으로도 사용되고, 칼 용도로도 쓰입니다.
다만 300 series 스텐레스보다는 내식성에서 떨어지는 단점이 있지만
스텐레스로는 중간 수준의 내식성과 높은 기계적 성질이 가능합니다.
경면 (mirror polishing) 마무리가 가능하고, 자성이 있으며 비중 7.7 g/㎤ 이고
환봉, 평강, 단조재로 Soft Annealed 조건 공급이 많은 재질입니다.
※ 연화 (Softening, Soft annealing)
철강재의 경도를 원하는 수준까지 낮추기 위해 시행하는 열처리를 말합니다.
Heat treatment in which heating is carried out around temperatures of Ac1
transformation point with the object of reducing the hardness of the
ferrous product to a given level.
※ Chromium (Cr : 크롬)
When used as an alloying element, chromium increases the hardenability of steel
and in association with high carbon gives resistance to wear and abrasion.
Chromium has an important effect on corrosion resistance and is present
in stainless steels in amounts of 11.5-20%.
크롬은 강에 합금 원소로 사용되며, 크롬량이 증가하면 경화성이 높아지고
고탄소강에는 내마모 성질을 부여합니다. 크롬은 스텐레스강에서 가장
중요한 원소로 11.5~20% 수준 합금 되어, 내식 성질을 부여합니다.
