8620CF 재질은 탄소량 0.20% 수준의 합금강재로 Ni-Cr-Mo 합금계열입니다.
Ni-Cr-Mo 합금이면서 탄소량이 0.20% 이하인 경우 표면을 경화시켜
사용하는 표면경화강으로, 표면경화강은 표면의 경도가 중요하지만
강재의 인성과 연성 또한 좋아야 하며 8620 강재는 표면경화 처리시에
좋은 심부 인성 (core toughness), 높은 표면경도가 특징입니다.
8620 합금강재처럼 열처리와 표면처리에 따라 다양한 기계적 성질을
가지는 재료는 AISI 규정에 한가지로 지정되는 기계적 성질이 없습니다.
다만 Typical 제시 가능한 항복강도는 415~690 MPa 수준입니다.

마무리한 봉강으로, 봉강뿐 아니라, 원형, 정방형,
육각형, 장방형 및 이형 등이 있습니다.
※ Carburizing (침탄 : 浸炭)
Thermochemical treatment which is applied to a ferrous product heated
to a temperature AC1, to obtain a surface enrichment in carbon and
nitrogen, which are in solid solution in the austenite.
Generally, this operation is followed immediately by quench hardening.
The medium in which carburizing takes place should be specified,
e.g. gas, salt bath, etc.
＊AC1 : temperature at which austenite begins to form during heating.
오스테나이트 상태의 철강재에서 표면에만 오스테나이트 중의 고용 탄소의
농도를 높이고자 시행하는 열화학적 처리로, 침탄된 철강재는 그 즉시 또는
이후에 급랭 담금질 처리가 뒤따라야 하며, 침탄에 이용한 가스나 고체등의
매질 표시가 반드시 표기되어야 합니다.
＊AC1 : 가열하는 동안 오스테나이트가 생성되기 시작하는 온도.
